The goal of this project was to design a bone plate for High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO): a surgical intervention for medical issues such as osteoarthritis in the event of varus malalignment of the knee. The design was structured around a provided model of the tibia to which the plate conforms. To optimize the design, physics was applied, and FEA was performed on the plate. Material selection and factor of safety were determined on MATLAB as well, confirming the results attained on ANSYS Discovery.
